LFL Desserts was the creation of Sheri & Zip Updike.  After struggling to find just the right ingredients, the best solutions for the 1 in 100 people who have Gluten Intolerance, and the 1 in 5 with Dairy Intolerance, they have succeeded in delivering the most amazing products.  Gluten-Free and Dairy-free diets are becoming the norm because more and more people are realizing that they have some level of intolerance to wheat (gluten) and dairy.  In 1998, Sheri Updike author of “The Lactose-Free Cookbook”, published by Warner Books was way ahead of her time, with her recipes altering for Lactose Intolerance.  Now she has developed these products expanding her research to include gluten-free and dairy-free helping friends and family.  She found that the interesting fact is the gluten-free food selections is not expanding at the rate they should be to accommodate the need.   Celiac Disease – is a digestive condition triggered by consumption of the protein gluten, which is found in wheat, rye and barley.  This means things like breads, pizza, cookies, pastas, cakes …anything made with all purpose flour. Even medicines can use gluten as a filler. And dairy is used in so many of the same items, we don’t realize it.  This becomes a very large group of people.  Now recently, Gluten-free and Dairy-free diets have been recommended for Autistic children.  The results have been very successful.  LFL Desserts has opened up a world of flavor and taste, taking old recipes and reinventing them.  Best of all, “no one will guess they are eating anything less!”
