This is actually an exciting post. Our affiliate website just climbed to the top of the Google for some awesome keyword terms. A lot of people say that I’m crazy for sharing my niche affiliate site but I think it’s great for showing the quality of our search engine optimization work.

Let me also say that at the time of writing this blog post (Nov. 2nd, 2009) I’m currently working to maintain the rankings, however, these ranking may slip due to the increase in projects we take on. I do believe that my clients’ work come before my own websites. With that said, lets get into the SEO results.

I built this website using Wordpress and customized a premium theme just to get it off the ground. My intentions were to build a niche affiliate site to generate some extra revenue on the side via Ebay commissions and Google Adsense. I also didn’t want to use any paid advertising that would cut into my profits.

After conducting some initial keyword research, I implemented some onsite SEO and created some content relating to my niche market, which was tactical rifle scopes. I then monetized my website with ebay affiliate links and Google adsense as revenue streams.

Once I had my content and affiliate links in place, I then used various ethical SEO methods to promote our website and to help increase it’s rankings within the search engines. Here are some screen shots of the current results.

As you can see, our web site ranks well for both keyword terms. With the right keyword research, on-site search engine optimization and link building stratagy, there is no reason for you website not to rank well within the search engine results pages.
